The PlayStation VR2 Sense Controller Charging Station Is An Almost Essential Purchase

We just published our PlayStation VR2 review and spoke about how there’s absolutely no doubt that the PlayStation VR2 Sense controllers are a huge improvement over the PlayStation Move controllers.

This is largely due to the fact that they mimic the DualSense controllers in almost every way, down from dual analogue sticks, to all of the face buttons, to the shoulder buttons, and also great features like haptics and adaptive triggers.

Unfortunately though, much like the DualSense controllers, you can expect to only get 4-5 hours tops out of them per charge. This is much more of an issue here as there’s two of them, and you can’t exactly swap them out mid-session if one of them die like you can a DualSense controller.

Whilst you likely won’t be playing VR for more than 4-5 hours at a time, charging two of them after each time you play is a fairly painful process, especially as you’re limited with PS5 ports and you only get one USB-C cable in the box.

Thankfully, Sony is releasing a charging station, much like the DualSense Charging Station. It allows you to plug in two little USB-C adaptors and just place the VR2 Sense controllers directly on the charging pad, and they’ll be ready for you to pick up and play at your next session.

They do carry a hefty price tag at $79, but trust me when I say you absolutely won’t regret it. Whilst EB Games is currently out of stock, Amazon still has them available for launch day delivery right HERE.
