We only just reported recently on the fact that a version of Metal Gear Solid 4 may have actually been in the works for the Xbox 360 prior to its release, a move that might have meant the game didn’t wind up locked away in a time long passed, like it has been with its PS3 version.
Now, it turns out we might just see the game make a return anyway, with sleuth-y fans uncovering what they believe is evidence of Metal Gear Solid 4’s inclusion in the inevitable follow up to the Metal Gear Solid Master Collection Vol 1, which Konami is releasing on October 24th.
It comes by way of Twitter user Nitroid figuring out that, after Konami updated its Metal Gear Solid website to include interactive elements for the games in its series timeline, leading players to pages dedicated to everything in the Master Collection Vol 1, it also added placeholder buttons for Metal Gear Solid 4, Peace Walker and Metal Gear Solid V. Nitroid also provided further context as to why they believe the inclusion is more than coincidence, and IGN even corroborated the claims, saying “IGN understands this lineup for Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 2 is accurate…”
The Metal Gear Solid Master Collection Vol 1 will feature the first three Metal Gear Solid games, as well as the original two Metal Gear games and a bunch of other extras like digital soundtracks, screenplay books and graphic novels, when it launches on October 24, 2023 for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch and PC.
