PlayStation has revealed that a new system update, dropping today and bringing the software version to 24.01-08.60.00, is adding a number of improvements including new Party enhancements and new features for the recently-released PULSE Explore earbuds (you can read our review of those here) as well as the soon-to-be-released PULSE Elite headset.
For the PS5’s Parties tab, players will now be able to see a list of the parties they’ve joined in the past and quickly restart a party simply by selecting it from the Recent list. The update also includes the usual system software performance and stability updates as well as improved messages and usability in some instances.
When it comes to the new headsets, owners of the PULSE Explore or PULSE Elite will be able to make use of a dedicated sound equalizer from within the PS5 system menu, as well as activate a sidetone feature so that it’s easier to hear your own voice in chats.
The PS5 will also now show a notification when your PULSE device is nearby, allowing you quickly have them connect to the PS5, as well as easily switch the connection between PS5 and PC from that same notification.
