PlayStation has revealed that a February 2024 State of Play showcase is indeed going ahead, and it’s happening tomorrow, February 1st at 9AM AEDT.
PlayStation says this’ll be a whopping 40-minute presentation covering more than 15 games, with new looks at the likes of Stellar Blade and Rise of the Ronin as well as other games headed to PS5 and PS VR2 in 2024 and beyond.
You’ll be able to watch the State of Play on Thursday, February 1st at 9AM AEDT. Here’s how that shakes out across the nation:
Right here!
“The first State of Play of 2024 will be over 40 minutes long, and feature guest appearances from some of the most talented minds in gaming. Among many other updates, we’ll feature extended looks at Stellar Blade and Rise of the Ronin, two great games coming to PS5 this year. And we’ll give you a new look at other titles coming to PS5 and PS VR2 in 2024 and beyond.”
Thanks to a combination of early leaks and general deduction/guess work we already have a plausible idea of what we’ll see a this new State of Play. Death Stranding 2 (believed to be subtitled On The Beach) and a PS5/PC port of Until Dawn are very likely contenders. We know for sure that we’ll see Rise of the Ronin and Stellar Blade, and Final Fantasy VII Rebirth is a shoo-in, but looking deeper into the crystal ball I wouldn’t be surprised to see updates from PS5-centric titles like the Silent Hill 2 remake, and maybe even some rumoured appearances from Judas, a new Sonic game and a VR take on Metro.
Highly unlikely, but I like to include this question in the hopes I’ll eventually manifest something.
