PlayStation Shapes Is A New Line Of Official Collectible Figures And It’s Coming To Australia

PlayStation has announced a new line of collectible figures based on its iconic PlayStation Studios titles, in a collaboration with toy company Spin Master.

PlayStation says that this new range, dubbed The Shapes Collection, will “deliver the interactive storytelling element of these titles in an all-new way, extending the gaming experience from digital to physical,” which is a marketing speak way of saying that you’ll get to appreciate your favourite PlayStation Studios characters even when you’re not playing the games.

The first of these to be released is a 6″ Aloy figure, which is available for Aussies to order now at Amazon and EB Games for $85 with figures already shipping and available in EB stores.

This will be followed by 6″ Kratos and Atreus figures, Horizon Forbidden West’s Varl, and Ghost of Tsushima’s Jin Sakai in September with pre-orders kicking off in a couple of weeks (again at Amazon Australia and presumably EB Games for us local fans).

Developers from the relevant PlayStation studios are apparently closely involved in the collaboration on these figures, which are based on the actual digital sculpts of the characters used in the games themselves, and the results are definitely impressively-faithful for the size of the figures. As of right now, there’s no word on more characters arriving in the future but here’s hoping these do well enough for the company to dig even deeper into its IP stores (Ratchet & Clank and Ape Escape, please!).

Here’s a bit more about the already-announced Shapes figures:

The Shapes Collection

Deluxe Figure 6-inch Aloy, Horizon Forbidden West

Core Figures 6-inch Kratos and Atreus (God of War Ragnarök), Varl (Horizon Forbidden West), Jin Sakai (Ghost of Tsushima)
