Our PS5 Pro Has Arrived

The PS5 Pro launches in exactly one week and our review unit has officially arrived. We can’t show you too much or talk about any of the specifics just yet, but we can tell you that it has arrived and show you the box.

You can expect impressions and our full review with a bunch of game impressions in the lead-up to launch, but for now, I’ve taken a bunch of photos of the box and compared it to the OG PS5 box and PS5 Slim Disc Edition as well. Just like the PS5 Slim, it’s a lot smaller than the OG PS5 box, only just a tad bigger than the Slim.

In case you don’t know a heap about the PS5 Pro, it’s out on November 7th for $1,199 AUD (without a disc drive) and has the below features:

• Upgraded GPU: With PS5 Pro, we are upgrading to a GPU that has 67% more Compute Units than the current PS5 console and 28% faster memory. Overall, this enables up to 45% faster rendering for gameplay, making the experience much smoother.
• Advanced Ray Tracing: We’ve added even more powerful ray tracing that provides more dynamic reflection and refraction of light. This allows the rays to be cast at double, and at times triple, the speeds of the current PS5 console.
• AI-Driven Upscaling: We’re also introducing PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution, an AI-driven upscaling that uses a machine learning-based technology to provide super sharp image clarity by adding an extraordinary amount of detail.
