Namco Bandai took to The Game Awards pre-show to announce a brand new Pac-Man game that nobody saw coming.

It’s called Shadow Labyrinth and it’s a Metroidvania that looks like it features Pac-Man heavily. You’ll use it to perform attacks and it also looks like there’s different forms of Pac-Man within the world too.

It’s coming in 2025 for Nintendo Switch, PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.

Here’s the description:

“Shadow Labyrinth is a 2D action platformer and a genre-twisting alternate take on the iconic PAC-MAN. As Swordsman No. 8, awoken by a floating yellow orb, PUCK, on a mysterious planet amidst relics of wars past, you are chosen to become the instrument of its will. To survive you will discover many secrets, consume your enemies, and grow from prey to the apex predator as you embrace your true purpose.”
