Bethesda has taken to X to officially announce that Doom: The Dark Ages is not only the franchise’s biggest launch, but, at three million players, it’s the biggest launch in id Software’s history.
Doom: The Dark Ages has reached the milestone seven times faster than its predecessor Doom Eternal, marking a historic launch for the series. No sales data has been made available in the time since Doom Eternal’s three-million milestone, though it was confirmed that Doom Eternal generated half a billion dollars in revenue within a year.
Given the pace at which Doom: The Dark Ages has hit its milestone, we expect it’ll have longer legs than Eternal did.
