Housemarque’s next game, Saros was shown off in full at this morning’s PlayStation State of Play and we also now know that it’s coming on March 20th for PS5.
The game is absolutely inspired by Returnal, but takes place on a brand new world called Carcosa which is a shape-shifting, hostile alien planet that will change every time your die. The new main character Arjun will have some unique abilities including the Soltari Shield which is activated with R1 and then you can charge up your weapon using L2 with the projectiles absorved with your shield.
Arjun’s right arm is a weapon in itself that can have power weapons attached to it corrupting him in the process, which gives him a secondary way to deal damage to enemies. There’s also a new Second Chance ability which is supposed to add a permanent-progession system which in my opinion was sorely missing from Returnal.
