ASUS has revealed that the ROG Xbox Ally X20 will be sold standalone, with more information to come later this year. It’s unclear if the bundle with the XREAL R1 Glasses will still exist, if this will be standalone, and whether it will release at the same time or after the fact.

The announcement was made to The Verge who said: “We are actively discussing the release schedule for a standalone version of the new Ally. Please stay tuned for upcoming announcements.”

The ROG Xbox Ally X20 was announced at Computex earlier this year. The biggest change is a brand new 7.4-inch OLED display that is capable of 1080p at 120hz with 1400 nits of peak brightness and now fills more of that unit, and it has a gorgeous new translucent design with a new light up Xbox logo and a new action button that replaces the library button as well.

It has new TMR joysticks, as well as a transforming d-pad that goes form 8 way to 4 way when you rotate it, as well as a bunch of ergonomic changes on the d-pad to the face buttons as well. As far as the internals go it has the same Z2 Extreme chip with 24GB of ram and 1TB of storage.
