It was definitely expected, but Big W has confirmed that they won’t have any walk-in stock for either the PS5 or Xbox Series X at launch. Big W along with Target are probably two of the retailers that could have possibility retained some stock for walk-in customers. but it’s not to be.

Spotted by a reader earlier today, Big W is now alerting customers in-store that due to “unexpected customer demand for pre-orders for PS5 and Xbox Series X, consoles will be unavailable for purchase in store on release date. We apologise for the inconvenience”.
It’s becoming increasingly likely that there won’t be any Australian walk-in stock for either the PS5 or Xbox Series X in 2020. We will keep you up to date with stock as it becomes available.
