Nintendo has officially unveiled Nintendo World Championships: NES Edition, a brand-new games that calls back to the iconic event – in particular the 1990 iteration – with retro speedrunning challenges based on classic NES titles.
The game, which launches digitally and physically on July 18th for Switch, features over 150 bite-sized moments from across 13 original NES games for players to test their skills and compete on the global leaderboards in weekly rotating challenges. Challenges will range from things like finishing the first level of Super Mario Bros. as quickly as possible to seeing how fast you can eat your first enemy in Kirby’s Adventure.
