EB Games have a PS5 trade-in offer starting today that seems insane in the world of escalating console prices. The first 2,020 people to return their PS5 Disc (Original) or PS5 Disc (Slim) console will receive $749.95 cash or in-store credit. That’s what you’d have paid for a PS5 back when it launched. Not too shabby whatsoever. You can take advantage of the offer HERE.
So you don’t then go home PlayStation-less, EB Game are offering those taking them up on the offer unlock the opportunity to upgrade to a brand new PS5 Pro for just $620 or PS5 Slim for $220. It’s worthwhile considering if you were weighing up an upgrade, or if you PS5 is gathering dust.
The deal is exclusive to EB World PLUS members, the store’s subsciption loyalty program, but customers can sign up to a new 12 month membership in the process and make use of the offer. The offer is valid until Sunday 26 April but something tells me 2,020 customers might take advantage of the deal before then.
The usual conditions otherwise apply: with the trade-in you must supply the console, controller and all components in good working condition. Only one trade is available per member, with EB Trade Policy & T&Cs applying. In WA, trade for cash is not available.
The move follows a similar trade incentive by EB Game’s counterpart in Gamestop, where they offered additional value to PlayStation owners trading for an Xbox. PlayStation recently increased the prices of new hardware, making a discounted second-hand consoles far more appealing should EB have the inventory on offer. The respective promotions appear a bid to get more pre-owned PS5s added to inventory.
