Everything Announced At The Oculus Gaming Showcase

Oculus held the first Oculus Gaming Showcase today and whilst it didn’t have too many new announcements, it did have a few updates to games that we’ve been waiting for. We already know that Resident Evil 4 as well as new Assassin’s Creed and Splinter Cell games are coming to Oculus Quest.

PISTOL WHIP IS GETTING A NEW CAMPAIGN

Cloudhead Games revealed Pistol Whip: Smoke and Thunder which is a five-scene, narrative-driven campaign for Pistol Whip that tells the tale of two sisters set in the Wild West. Pistol Whip is also getting an update called The Concierge which will unlock customisation for Pistol Whip players. Both updates are coming this Winter.

WARHAMMER 40,000 IS GETTING MULTIPLAYER

It was announced that Warhammer 40,000 is getting a multiplayer update called Battle Sister in the very near future.

RESIDENT EVIL 4 VR IS COMING LATER THIS YEAR WITH SOME BIG CHANGES

It’s been confirmed that Resident Evil 4 VR will release exclusively on Oculus Quest 2 later this year. The game will be playable in the first-person perspective and weapons and items have been fully reengineered as physical objects that you can pick up and interact with. You can also change weapons on the fly by grabbing them from your body, and you can wield a separate weapon in each hand. You can move with the analogue stick using room scale movement or teleportation.

LONE ECHO II IS LAUNCHING THIS WINTER

Ready at Dawn is releasing a sequel to Lone Echo. Lone Echo II sees the return of Jack and Liv on Oculus Rift and Oculus Link/Air later this Winter.

STAR WARS: TALES FROM THE GALAXY’S EDGE PART II IS COMING

We got to see the first gameplay for Star Wars: Tales From The Galaxy’s Edge Part II which is coming to Oculus Quest later this year. We got to meet Dok-Ondar, who is a visitor from the Den of Antiquities.
