Father’s Day is quickly coming up this year. Taking place on Sunday, September 5th, the day will likely feel a little different for a lot of Australians this year with it taking place in lockdown. With shops closed, you’ll need to do your shopping online, so here’s a little guide to some nice things that you can get the fathers in your life.
PLAYSTATION PLUS/XBOX GIFT CARD
You really can’t go wrong with getting somebody a PlayStation Network voucher or Xbox gift card. They’ll be able to buy a number of games from the digital store front on either PS4/PS5 or Xbox One/Xbox Series X or top up their Xbox Game Pass subscription. If you’re wanting to get someone a PlayStation Plus card to top up their subscription, you can get a three month card or a 12 month card. Obviously there’s also EB Games and JB Hi-Fi gift cards if you’re wanting to go down that path too.
SOMETHING NEW FOR THE GAMING SETUP
No PC setup is ever complete, and that’s even more so now than ever with most people still working from home. If you’re after a new mouse, the SteelSeries Rival 5 definitely will impress, if you’re after a headset, the SteelSeries Arctis 7 will impress and if you’re after a keyboard, the SteelSeries Apex 7 is a great middle ground between cost saving and performance. If you’re after a microphone either for gaming or to up your game with video calls the EPOS B20 microphone is a great get. If you’re after some speakers, the JBL Quantum DUO will set you back $250 and will add some pop to any setup.
THE PLAYSTATION HITS RANGE
There’s no better stocking stuffer than the PlayStation hits range. Classic titles such as God of War, Ratchet and Clank, The Last Of Us and Horizon Zero Dawn: Complete Edition can all be had for $15 or less at various retailers. JAZZ UP YOUR DESK SPACE
There’s a bunch of new smart home products that you can shop for. The Satechi Trio wireless charger will charge your iPhone, Apple Watch and AirPods, whilst there’s a much more simpler model just for charging your iPhone/Airpods separately. A NEW CONTROLLER
Honestly, one of the best gifts that you can get for the gamer that has everything is a new controller. If they’re rocking a PS4, you can get them a DualShock 4, if they have a Switch, a Pro Controller and if they’re lucky enough to have a PS5 or Xbox Series X then you can get a controller for each of those too.
SOMETHING SMART
If you’re after a smart speaker, we recommend the Echo Dot or Google Nest Mini. You can’t really go wrong with a smart lock such as this Samsung one. Electric scooters are all the rage at the moment. Segway has just released the brand new F range. Our pick would be the Segway F40A. One of my favourite pieces of tech at the moment is the Viomi Alpha S9 robot vacuum which not only vacuums, but then also self empties. Another recommendation would be a Philips Hue light strip in order to brighten up any area (under cabinets or the TV).
