Following the immaculate Donkey Kong Bananza and controversial Mario Kart World, Nintendo has been occupying the zeitgeist in a big way with the Nintendo Switch 2.
But there’s a big gap missing and that’s from some certain third parties on the Switch 2. While there’s still some first party games up in the air, third parties definitely need their time to shine.
Earlier this week, Nintendo announced that a Partner Direct event would be held, showcasing the games coming to the Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2.
So here’s all the announcements from the July 2025 Nintendo Direct.
ALL OF THE JULY 2025 NINTENDO DIRECT ANNOUNCEMENTS
WE GOT ANOTHER LOOK AT HYRULE WARRIORS: AGE OF IMPRISONMENT BUT STILL NO DATE FOR SOME REASON
The third of the Hyrule Warriors games, it takes place at some point before the events of Tears of the Kingdom. Despite it being out in 2025, it wasn’t dated.
THE SHOW CLOSED WITH A NEW OCTOPATH TRAVELER
Suspiciously called Octopath Traveler 0, the game is out in the first week of December.
THE ORIGINAL PLANTS VS. ZOMBIES IS GETTING REMASTERED
Called Replanted, the game features improved HD artwork as well as local co-op and PvP modes.
THE PRESENTATION OPENED WITH A BRAND NEW MONSTER HUNTER STORIES GAME
The monsties are back in a big way. The game is called Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection and it’s out in 2025 for Nintendo Switch 2.
THE NEXT KATAMARI GAME IS AN ORIGINAL GAME AND JUMPS THROUGH TIME TOO
This time you’ll be rolling your way through different historical time periods. There’s character customisation too and online multiplayer. It’s called ONCE UPON A KATAMARI and it’s out on October 24th this year.
JUST DANCE 2026 WAS REVEALED I THINK
There’s a whole bunch of tracks, as expected, and a new co-op party mode. It’s out on October 14th. Big surprises. I say I think because I don’t know if this is a shocking announcement or not.
DRAGON BALL: SPARKING! ZERO IS MAKING THE JUMP TO SWITCH
Releasing for both Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2, the game lets you play through key moments of the series. There’s motion controls too if that’s your jam. It’s out for both Switch and Switch 2 on November 14th.
EA FC IS LOOKING LIKE THE TRADITIONAL TYPE OF EA FC WHICH IS COOL
Not my vibe but it looks good if you like this thing. Balls. Grass. Physics.
PAC-MAN WORLD 2 REPAC IS WAKA WAKA-ING TO THE NINTENDO SWITCH LATER THIS YEAR
The game features the same cool 3D worlds as seen in Pac-Man World, but this one has local co-op too. It’s out September 26th.
PERSONA 3 RELOAD IS HEADING TO NINTENDO SWITCH 2 WITH ALL THE BELLS AND WHISTLES
The game looks to be pretty feature-complete when compared to other versions. It’s out on October 23rd 2025.
THE NEW MADDEN WAS SHOWN OFF WITH GREAT PARITY TO OTHER VERSIONS TOO
It looks, again, as feature-complete as other versions. It’s due out on August 14th 2025.
CHILLIN’ BY THE FIRE IS THE FIRST SHADOW DROP OF THE NIGHT
Perhaps the only one. It looks like a cute little experience. You can play it later today.
APEX LEGENDS IS MAKING THE WALL RUNNING DOUBLE JUMP TO NINTENDO SWITCH 2
It’ll feature parity with other versions and the same season schedules. It hits the Switch 2 in August.
HELA IS A CUTE LITTLE GROUNDED-LIKE IF I CAN SAY THAT NOW
You play as a cute little mouse adventuring through a forest. There’s four player co-op too. The game is due in 2026.
CRONOS: THE NEW DAWN IS COMING TO NINTENDO SWITCH 2 TOO AT LAUNCH AND GOT A RELEASE DATE
The game is a unique blend of Resident Evil and Dead Space from Bloober, who have more than proven their mettle after the great Silent Hill 2. It hits on September 5th 2025.
BOTH THE YAKUZA KIWAMI GAMES ARE MAKING THE FISTY JUMP (?) TO NINTENDO SWITCH
Yakuza Kiwami and Yakuza Kiwami 2 are both remakes of the first two games that were a gap in the Yakuza Switch library. Both hit the console on November 13th 2025.
A BRAND NEW HD-2D ACTION RPG WAS REVEALED FROM SQUARE ENIX
It has you playing a boy named Elliot and his fairy. Dynamic. It’s called The Adventure of Elliot: The Millenium Tales. A demo is due out now, though the game is out in 2026.
