One of their longest State of Play presentations yet, PlayStation held a 60 minute State of Play presentation today showing off heaps of games.
There was PLENTY shown, so let’s get to it.
THE GOD OF WAR GREECE TRILOGY IS GETTING THE REMAKE TREATMENT
Not much details were revealed, though it is bringing back the original voice actor for Kratos.
A 2D PIXEL-ART PREQUEL TO THE GOD OF WAR TRILOGY WAS REVEALED AND IT’S OUT NOW
It’s called God of War: Sons of Sparta and follows Kratos and his brother Deimos during their training as Spartans. It’s out right now.
KONAMI FINALLY REVEALED METAL GEAR SOLID: MASTER COLLECTION – VOLUME 2
The package will include Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots for the first time outside of the PlayStation 3, as well as Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker. It also includes Ghost Babel, the Game Boy Colour game too. Justice for Metal Gear AC!D though, Konami, there’s still time. It’s out in August.
SABER INTERACTIVE IS MAKING A NEW JOHN WICK GAME
The game is created in tandem with the series creator, and tells an original story within the timeline. I’m a bit over John Wick but it’s cool that we finally have a game where you play as him properly.
WE FINALLY GOT OUR FIRST LOOK AT SILENT HILL: TOWNFALL
It looks to be filling a unique niche that no other Silent Hill game has yet. It’s a first-person adventure this time around that’s due out in 2026.
KENA BRIDGE OF SPIRITS IS GETTING A SEQUEL
It’s been five years since the first game, if you can believe it. It’s out this year and it’s called Kena: Scars of Kosmora. This time, Kena is a more accomplished Spirit Guide and will explore a larger more open world.
WE GOT OUR FIRST GHOST OF YOTEI: LEGENDS TRAILER AND RELEASE DATE
It’s releasing on March 10th, and will add multiplayer to Ghost of Yotei. The mode allows up to four players to play specific missions cooperatively.
DEATH STRANDING 2: ON THE BEACH IS COMING TO PC NEXT MONTH
The port will be handled by Nixxes, who does most of PlayStation’s PC ports, and will feature all the bells and whistles including ultrawide support. It’s out March 19th.
BAD ROBOT AND MIKE BOOTH (LEFT 4 DEAD) GAVE US AN EXTENDED LOOK AT 4:LOOP
The developers goal is to “create something new” so they’ve given us a four player tactical co-op shooter. Mm.
A NEW PRAGMATA TRAILER SHOWED OFF A LOT MORE ENVIRONMENTS AND ENEMIES
It’s looking like an interesting experiment for Capcom. It’s still on track for it’s April release date, and you can play the demo now, though that’s been around for around a week.
THE FOURTH RESIDENT EVIL REQUIEM TRAILER TEASES MORE OF A RETURN TO RACCOON CITY
Capcom are still keeping their secrets, aren’t they? It’s out in around two weeks, which is still exciting.
LEGACY OF KAIN: DEFIANCE IS GETTING THE REMASTER TREATMENT
The original game had you playing as both Raziel from the Soul Reaver games as well as Kain himself. This remaster also includes a demo for the unreleased sequel for Defiance as well as improved controls and visuals.
LEGACY OF KAIN: ASCENDANCE IS A 2D RETRO ACTION PLATFORMER
It features cool pixel art, returning voice actors and an adventure across fractured timelines.
A NEW BRIGANDINE GAME WAS ANNOUNCED
It’s a Fantasy War Strategy RPG and it’s out this year.
DEAD OR ALIVE 6 IS GETTING THE REMASTER TREATMENT
Dead Or Alive 6: Last Round is the definitive version of the Dead or Alive 6 that released in 2019. It’ll be released in both a standard and free to play version. It’s out in June 2026.
A NEW DEAD OR ALIVE GAME IS ALSO IN DEVELOPMENT
A brand new game is coming too if remasters aren’t your thing.
WE GOT A BETTER LOOK AT HOW CONTROL RESONANT WILL PLAY
The game is shaping up to be one of the most unique outings for Remedy, though looks entirely different from the original Control. It’s still on track for release in 2026.
A BRAND NEW ACTION RPG IS COMING LATER THIS YEAR AND LOOKS…..ANGEL-Y
You play as a Nephilim, a half-human and half-angel hybrid. It’s got some rogue-like elements, as well as two-player co-op.
WE FINALLY GOT A RELEASE DATE FOR BEAST OF REINCARNATION
From the Pokemon developer Game Freak, the game has you playing as a girl and a dog. Fun times.
NEVA IS GETTING A PREQUEL DLC IF YOU WERE WONDERING ABOUT THAT
The game will tell the story of how Alba and Neva first met. It’s out next week.
THE TENCHU DEVS ARE CREATING A NEW CO-OP GAME
It’s a tactical top-down game that supports up to four players.
PROJECT WINDLESS HAS YOU PLAYING AS A BIG ROOSTER WITH A SWORD
What more could you want really? It’s a videogame based on The Bird That Drinks Tears book and is described as an open-world action RPG.
THE GAMEPLAY TRAILER FOR STAR WARS: GALACTIC RACER WAS REVEALED
Now THIS is podracing. It’s still on track for a 2026 release.
THE LATEST STORY TRAILER FOR 007 FIRST LIGHT BRINGS MORE BOND
It’s out in May. I’m beyond keen to see how this goes, but the vibes seem good.
DARWIN’S PARADOX IS GETTING A DEMO AND GOT A RELEASE DATE
The game is basically Little Nightmares but with an octopus and is getting a Metal Gear themed demo too.
A BRAND NEW CASTLEVANIA GAME WAS REVEALED
The game is set 23 years after Dracula’s Curse. It’s called Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse and it’s out in 2026.
KONAMI SHOWED OFF ONE OF THEIR NEW ORIGINAL PROJECTS – A JRPG
Look this one isn’t for me but I am sure somebody will like it. No release date was announced.
THE MARATHON LAUNCH TRAILER LOOKS BETTER
It looks cool-ish and is still on track for release next month.
THE LATEST SAROS GAMEPLAY LOOKS JUICY
They’re really trying their best to improve on everything that Returnal did. It’s still on track for its April release date.
THE LATEST MARVEL: TOKON FIGHTERS REVEALED A WHOLE BUNCH OF NEW CHARACTERS
While Storm was already confirmed, the trailer confirmed that Danger, Magik and Wolverine will be joining the roster. It was also revealed that the game is out on August 6th.
