Kickstarter For Hand of Fate Board Game Smashes Through Goal

Australian developers have seen a huge amount of success in funding video games through Kickstarter in recent years and this success now extends to board games.

Hand of Fate: Ordeals, a board game based on Brisbane based developer Defiant Development‘s highly successful debut title (and soon to be series) Hand of Fate, blasted through its Kickstarter goal of $30,000 within six hours of the campaign going live.

The project is a collaboration between the indie developer and board game developer Rule & Make, who have run several successful board game Kickstarters.

The original Hand of Fate has been downloaded over 2.5 million times across PC, PS4 and Xbox One.

Ordeals is and adventure deck building board game which is set between the events of Hand of Fate and the upcoming Hand of Fate 2. One to four players can play in both competitive and co-operative game modes.

Although based on the Hand of Fate property and features art from HoF 1 and 2, the game has been built from the ground up and will feature plenty of new illustrations made just for the board game.

As an added bonus, by backing the Kickstarter you’ll receive the original Hand of Fate video game along with an exclusive Kickstarter figurine for use in the game.

At the time of writing the campaign has raised over $90,000, which is more than triple the original goal and has meant several stretch goals have also been met already.
