A Sonic The Hedgehog Movie Sequel Is Already In Development

According to an exclusive scoop from Variety, Paramount Pictures and Sega Sammy Holdings Inc. has confirmed that a sequel to Sonic the Hedgehog, released in February of this year, is already in development. The report assures fans of the original production Jeff Fowler will be returning to direct the live-action family comedy and that Pat Casey and Josh Miller will be writing the script.

The project is still in its infancy and it seems like the cast has not yet been determined, nor has Paramount refined a production start date. This is still exciting news for Sonic fans that enjoyed the first film and until we hear more, we can only hope to see comic heavy-hitters Ben Schwartz and Jim Carrey return to their roles to defend the world from evil genius and to plot world domination, respectively.
