The Next Batman: Arkham Game Is Exclusive To The Meta Quest 3

A brand-new Batman: Arkham game is on the way from WB Games, although it’s not the Rocksteady-developed major sequel many would have loved to see in place of this year’s Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League. Instead, it’s the series’ second VR title and it’s headed exclusively to the Meta Quest 3.

Although there’s very little information yet aside from a short teaser trailer and the promise of a Late 2024 release date, this one’s being developed by the folks at Camouflaj who also created the excellent Iron Man VR, so there’s at least hope that this will be halfway decent. In the trailer, which is definitely not actual gameplay, we can see Batman gliding through some Gotham back alleys and chasing after a single rat before he’s suddenly overrun with a swarm of them and smoke-bombs his way out of there – perhaps we’ll see Ratcatcher join the series for more than a vacant cameo as a Riddler puzzle?

There’s more information promised for Summer Game Fest on June 8th, so make sure you check out our guide to all of the dates and times for the June games showcase season here to make sure you catch the full reveal.

“Gotham City is in danger. And you’re the only one who can save it. Batman: Arkham Shadow, coming late 2024. Only on Meta Quest 3.”

In my 2022 review of Camouflaj’s Iron Man VR for the Meta Quest 2, I called it a must-have, saying “Marvel’s Iron Man VR was a great PS VR title, but it’s an absolutely essential Quest 2 game. Everything that was great about its original iteration and its fantastic-feeling Iron Man power fantasy is still here, but it’s all improved immensely by the freedom and performance offered by the new hardware. If you’ve got a Quest 2, this is a must-have in your library.”
