The DreamHack team has announced that DreamHack Melbourne will not return in 2025, and there are currently no plans for it to return in Australia in the foreseeable future.
The event had been held at Melbourne Park this year, and in previous years and was fairly popular in attendance, but the announcement was made on the Twitter page of the company that it would not be returning.
“A message from the DreamHack Melbourne team: It is with a heavy heart that we share with you the news that DreamHack Melbourne will not be returning in 2025, and that there are currently no plans to hold further DreamHack events in Australia in the foreseeable future.” said a post on Twitter.
“Creating DreamHack Melbourne was an absolute joy and an honour. We are immensely proud of what we accomplished together with you, our incredible community, and we will be forever grateful for the support that you provided. The memories we made together will always hold a special place in our hearts. Thank you for bringing your enthusiasm, creativity, and energy—you are what made DreamHack Melbourne truly unforgettable. Until we meet again—stay awesome and keep gaming. ” continued the statement

Events are obviously one of the only times that our community can come together, so this is definitely sad news today. It’s unclear if any further local jobs are impacted by this news.
