A man has been attacked whilst playing Pokemon GO in Eltham, Victoria. Michael, was enjoying playing Pokemon GO when the 25-year-old ventured into a Pokemon GO hot spot near Eltham Library where he was ambushed by an attacker.
It was at about 9:30pm when the man tried to steal his belongings.
“It turned into a scuffle,” Michael told the Diamond Valley Leader.
“I was focused on my phone, I passed a few groups in the park, but they were doing the same thing as me.”
“Should’ve had my eyes up. I was just at the wrong place at the wrong time.”
He was taken to the Austin Hospital with cuts and grazes after an on-looker helped him escape from his attacker.
Detective Senior Constable Ian Murphy said that the police are investigating Banyule’s first Pokemon GO related incident and wanted to speak to the person who helped Michael get away.
