Resident Evil Revelations 2 Takes Up A Huge Amount Of Space On Nintendo Switch

Capcom today confirmed that Resident Evil Revelations 1 + 2 will release for Nintendo Switch in November.

In Australia, it appears that both games will only be available digitally. In some parts of the world, the game will be released physically, but oddly only Resident Evil Revelations 1 will be on the cart whilst Revelations 2 will need to be downloaded digitally. This is probably due to the fact that Resident Evil Revelations 2 is almost certainly bigger than any other game to release on the Switch so far.

Resident Evil Revelations 2 will take up 26gb of space on the Nintendo Switch. For reference, this is almost double what Breath of the Wild uses up. It’s also more than what’s available on a Nintendo Switch which means you’ll need to have a MicroSD card in order to download it. Even then, you’re almost likely to be out of space at this point. The first game isn’t small either with it taking up 13gb of space.

I’m really excited to play both games again on the Nintendo Switch. Both Revelations were incredible, and it feels like the perfect duo to take on the go and play anywhere.

  • Seems really dumb that the smaller game uses the cartridge. Switch cartridges go up to 32GB, so Revelations 2 on the cart would've been better. Maybe they were just cheap and only wanted to pay for 16GB carts.
