Majority of the Pokemon Nintendo Direct was taken up by two Expansion Passes which will release in June and Spring. They’re called ‘The Isle of Armor’ and ‘The Crown Tundra’ and will set you back $45 AUD for both.
200+ well known Pokemon are coming to the games with the DLC, but you won’t need to purchase the DLC to get these Pokemon, as people who do own the DLC will be able to trade them to you.
The Isle of Armor will focus on growth, where you’ll become the apprentice of a former Pokemon Champion in Mustard. You’ll have a new rival in either Klara or Avery depending on which version you own and you’ll also get a new Legendary Pokemon in the form of Kubfu (who can evolve into Urshifu).
The Crown Tundra will focus on exploration in a brand new ice region. It’ll feature a new legendary Pokemon called Calyrex and will also have a brand new online co-op mode which will allow you to play alongside other trainers.
The DLC will also introduce Galarian variations of Articuno, Moltres and Zapdos who all look badass. A new software update for Sword/Shield were released today where you can meet both Klara/Avery as well as catch a Galarian Slowpoke.
