Out of nowhere Nintendo has patched last year’s triple-pack of classic 3D Mario titles, Super Mario 3D All-Stars, to include support for the newly-released Nintendo 64 Switch Controller in Super Mario 64.
Players who were lucky enough to snag one of the now-sold out controllers will be able to use it in the updated N64 classic after updating to the 1.1.1 version of the collection. According to the patch notes, the controls will match those of the original but button inputs displayed in game will still reflect the Switch’s original controllers and not the N64 buttons:
Patch 1.1.1
Though Nintendo pulled Super Mario 3D All-Stars from digital shelves on its promised expiration date, Aussies can still find a physical version in most stores.
