In news that’s surprised absolutely nobody, Nintendo has confirmed the existence of the special The Legend Of Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom Edition Nintendo Switch OLED console that was leaked a few months ago.
The reveal came during a special Nintendo Direct dedicated solely to Tears of the Kingdom, where Nintendo also showed off a solid chunk of gameplay – you can read about and watch that right here. The game’s not far away from launch now, coming on May 12th, but fans can get their hands around this particularly shiny-looking Switch OLED even earlier on April 28th.
The Legend Of Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom Edition Nintendo Switch OLED has a distinct pattern on the black backing of the handheld portion, comes with a white and gold dock with distinct visuals as well as a set of themed Joy-Cons, one white/gold and one green/gold displaying two noticeably different motifs tying them into the aesthetic themes of the game. Oh, and matching white and gold Joy-Con straps, of course.
Also revealed was a themed Pro Controller and Switch OLED carry case, both coming on May 12th:
Like most of Nintendo’s special edition Switch consoles, the only thing this one is missing is the game itself, which you’ll have to purchase separately – the Collector’s Edition is still available here, if you’re looking to splurge on other limited goodies for the game. All of the special Tears of the Kingdom items are now available to pre-order in Australia:
