Nintendo has announced that is has cast its Link and Zelda in the live-action The Legend of Zelda movie.
Zelda will be played by Bo Bragason and Link will be played by Benjamin Evan Ainsworth. Both are English actors with Bragason known for her work in BBC’s Three Girls and The Jetty and Disney+ Series Renegade Nell with Ainsworth known for his work in the Haunting of Bly Manor and the voice of Pinocchio in the remake.
The Legend of Zelda movie is releasing in theatres on May 7th, 2027. We don’t know anything else about the upcoming movie in terms of if it will follow the story of a game, but we do know that Miyamoto is seemingly involved and obviously it will be live-action and featuring both Link and Zelda prominently.
We also know that another Nintendo movie is set to release early next year (Super Mario World the likely title), with a Donkey Kong movie also seemingly on the way if a trademark placed by Nintendo this week is to be revealed.
