Out of absolutely nowhere Team Cherry has announced Hollow Knight: Silksong – Sea of Sorrow, an expansion for Silksong that is coming in 2026.
The expansion will be free for all players and take players under the sea with new areas, new bosses, tools and more and a load of other details that are being kept secret.
The YouTube trailer description says: “Hollow Knight: Silksong – Sea of Sorrow is coming in 2026! Voyage across and beneath the salt-stricken seas in this thrilling expansion, free for all players.”
It’s also been revealed that the game has sold 7 million copies alongside those playing on Xbox Game Pass which is a huge amount.
Otherwise, Team Cherry announced that a Nintendo Switch 2 version of Hollow Knight is coming with higher frame rates, higher resolutions and additional graphics effects. This will be a free upgrade to those that own the original Switch version.
