A Mass Effect Trilogy Remaster Is Not Happening Anytime Soon

Peter Moore has just dashed the hopes of Mass Effect Trilogy Remaster for PS4 and Xbox One.

In an interview with IGN this week, Peter Moore spoke about “EA’s focus on delivering content for the future and not revisiting the past.” He went on to take a shot at other publishers by saying that “The ideas of remasters is like pushing stuff out because you’ve run out of ideas”

Moore went on to acknowledge that EA could definitely make some easy money by remastering the game but he maintained that he wanted to focus on delivering new IP and new experiences.

Obviously, Bioware’s sights and full attention is currently set on Mass Effect on Andromeda: “We just feel like we want to go forward. There’s a little thing called Mass Effect Andromeda that we’re totally focused on at BioWare and it’s gonna be magnificent.”

It was only a few weeks ago when EA Studios Boss Patrick Soderlund said that the company was looking into the possibility, but it’s pretty clear at this point that even if it does happen in the future, it’s probably not currently in development.

Personally, as somebody that never had the time to play any of the Mass Effect trilogy, I’d love nothing more than to jump in on PS4 or Xbox One, but completely commend EA for not wanting to cash in, and focus on creating new experiences.

Mass Effect Andromeda due for release on PS4, Xbox One and PC in early 2017.

Thanks, IGN.

  • Peter Moore is just repeating what he said last year... In his current position with the company, it wouldn't be something he would reveal.

There is obviously a change in EA's way of thinking with Patrick's recent comments. I wouldn't be surprised if they announce as a pre order bonus for Andromeda... Bluepoint studios are up to something...

  • My friend keeps telling me to play them, would be so much easier if they were remastered for Xbox One.
