Australia Is Getting The Nvidia RTX 3080/3090 Founder’s Edition GPUs After All

UPDATE 15/09: Mwave has now confirmed that they will hold a raffle for both the 3080/3090 Founders Edition. You can find more info on that HERE.

UPDATE: Nvidia has provided us with confirmation that Australia is getting the RTX 3080 and RTX 3090 FE. These will be sold exclusively at Mwave initially and be available for order on September 17th at 11pm AEST and September 24th at 11pm respectively for $1,139 AUD and $2429 AUD.

“After listening to the feedback from our loyal fans, we are excited to announce that we have been able to secure GeForce RTX 3080 (MSRP $1,139.00) and GeForce RTX 3090 (MSRP $2,429.00) Founders Edition Cards to be made available to our Australian and New Zealand customers.

Since we expect considerable demand, the cards will be available on a first in basis from Mwave and will be available to purchase from Thursday the 17th of September at 11.00pm AEST for the GeForce RTX 3080 and Thursday the 24th of September at 11.00pm AEST for the GeForce RTX 3090, at the same time as general availability of partner cards for both GPUs.”

Last week we wrote about the fact that RTX 3080 Founder’s Edition wouldn’t be coming to Australia, based on a statement that Nvidia provided to Kotaku. Nvidia then confirmed this statement on their own Facebook page.

It now looks at least one Australian retailer will be getting the RTX 3080 Founder’s Edition card. A Nvidia Community Manager wrote on the official Nvidia forum that Australian retailer Mwave will be getting stock of the Founder’s Edition RTX 3080.

The post reads:

NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 Founders Edition graphics cards will be sold through this retailer in Australia: https://www.mwave.com.au/catalog/nvidia-geforce-nvzone

No other details were provided outside of this, although the RTX 3080 is due to launch on September 17th. Obviously, stock will most likely be incredibly limited, and it’s unclear if any other retailers will get the card in Australia.
