Hyper Light Breaker, the next game from indie studio Heart Machine and a follow-up of sorts to 2016’s beloved Hyper Light Drifter, is set to launch in Early Access in Spring 2023.
That’s according to a new Gameplay Reveal trailer, which confirms that the launch is coming at a bit of a delay from its initial Autumn launch window, but gives us our first proper look at the game in action.
A 3D open world, online roguelite with procedurally generated worlds, it’s a departure from Drifter’s top-down pixel art action adventure RPG stylings, so it’s great to get a better handle on what it’s like in action. The trailer shows the player gliding and drifting around gorgeous worlds as well as facing down swathes of tough enemies in fast and frenetic-looking combat with a variety of unique builds. It looks incredibly slick and exciting, so check it out for yourself below:
Enter the Overgrowth, a forgotten land in the world of Hyper Light. Play alone or with friends to explore open worlds, fight brutal monsters, unlock gear, create new builds, take on the mysterious Crowns and overthrow the ominous Abyss King in this adventure from the creators of Hyper Light Drifter.
You can wishlist the game on Steam here, ready for when it eventually enters Early Access towards the end of the year.
