Valve has revealed the Steam Machine price and release date, and whilst it’s not hugely unexpected at this point, the price is definitely beyond what we were hoping for.
The Steam Machine will be sold in four configurations starting at $1,609 for the 512GB version without a controller all the way up to $2,228 for the 2TB version with a controller.

HOW TO PRE-ORDER THE STEAM MACHINE IN AUSTRALIA
For this launch, Valve are selling the console with a lottery system. You can register your interest HERE until June 25th, and at this point there will be a random draw to determine who goes into a reservation queue and who goes into a waitlist with the first shipment happening on June 29th with more people being pulled out of the waitlist as units become available.
WHAT IS THE STEAM MACHINE?
The Steam Machine is a mini PC that is shaped as a 6-inch cube and runs SteamOS. It has 6x the power of the Steam Deck and targets 4K gaming at 60FPS with FSR. It’ll be available in 512GB and 2TB options both which can be expanded via MicroSD and it has 1 Gigabit Ethernet. DisplayPort 1.4. HDMI 2.0. One USB-C and four USB-A ports.
