Diablo IV is inching closer to its June 6th release date, and in anticipation of letting players loose in its huge world at launch, it’s holding one more early playtest!
Dubbed the “Server Slam” weekend, this playtest will be open to absolutely everybody on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One and PC and will run from May 13th at 5AM AEST until May 15th at 5AM AEST.
The Server Slam weekend will allow players to explore the entirety of Fractured Peaks through the prologue and Act 1 of the game, with a level cap of 20 – a similar setup to the previous open and closed betas including world events, dungeons and the world boss, Ashava, to contend with. Player progress from the prior betas won’t carry over, however participants have the chance to unlock more rewards for the full game by hitting certain milestones:
And of course, couch co-op, crossplay and cross progression are all supported in the playtest. Head here for more information and instructions on how to download/update and play when the Server Slam kicks off.
Diablo IV recently went gold, meaning that development on the game has essentially finished, making it ready for launch with final builds being sent to be pressed to discs or uploaded to digital storefront servers.
In our hands-on preview of the game late last year, we said, “I honestly believe Diablo IV will go a long way to please long-term fans of the series and still be a great starting point for lapsed or new players. At its core, Diablo IV is a fun, fantasy-driven experience with a lot to offer to those who are open to the genre.”
Diablo IV launches on June 6, 2023, on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One and PC. Amazon currently has the cheapest pre-order at $74 with free shipping.
