Overwatch Is Getting A Ton Of Updates in 2017

Overwatch Director Jeff Kaplan has provided some details about what’s coming to Overwatch early next year.

Kaplan said that Blizzard has multiple new heroes on the way including one who is “very promising”. He also confirmed that they have some “fun prototypes” that are currently in the early stages.

In the way of maps, Oasis is still on track for an early 2017 release and there are a ton of maps that the Overwatch team is incredibly confident in.

He also spoke about some of the new features coming in 2017 including an upgrade to the communications wheel which will allow you to carry four emotes, four voice lines and four sprays.

Blizzard also hopes to launch version 1.0 of the Overwatch custom game server early in the year.

The company also said that more events are on the way that are likely to shock players.

  • it still baffles me how COD, Battlefield etc get away with paid dlc for weapons and maps. All the while Blizzard pumps out these 'updates' for free

      • It's just not overwatch, it's diablo as well. I understand that Starcraft has its expansions along with diablo 3. But wow if their other updates don't hangs and expand the game
