EA Has Apparently Cancelled Their Open World Star Wars Game

Jason Schreier over at Kotaku is reporting that EA has cancelled its upcoming open world Star Wars game.

The game had an interesting development journey. It had originally started at Visceral Games as a linear action-adventure game, before the studio was closed. EA Vancouver then took over the game and spun it into an open world Star Wars game using some of Visceral’s assets.

The open world game has been revealed in a job listing in March 2018 where EA had published that they were looking for a lead online engineer that would “Lead a team to deliver Online features for a Star Wars Open World project.”

It’s unclear what this means for EA’s current line up of Star Wars games. Currently, we only know about Respawn’s game titled ‘Jedi: Fallen Order’ which is due to release later this year.
