A Resident Evil 4 Remake Is Apparently On The Way

After news began leaking about Resident Evil Village (aka Resident Evil 8), it’s now being reported by VGC that Capcom has green-lit a Resident Evil 4 Remake.

The estimated release window is 2022, which makes sense given that Resident Evil 8 is expected to release in 2021. The development of the game is being led by M-Two, who is a brand new studio that is founded by PlatinumGames former head Tatsuya Minami.

It’s understood that the project has the blessing of the original game director Shinji Mikami (who has gone on to create horror games such as The Evil Within). He will not be involved in the Remake, but has provided advice on the direction it should take.

With Resident Evil 4 being Capcom’s highest-rated game of all-time, there’s going to be a lot of pressure on the studio for this one. It’s game that a lot of people love and it ventured away from the Resident Evil games that had come before it. A lot of people don’t believe that it needs a remake (especially given the fact that you can play a HD version on both PS4/Xbox One).
