Resident Evil Village Will Run At 4K/45FPS With Ray Tracing On PS5/Xbox Series X

It’s been a big day for Resident Evil news, and following the presentation, Capcom released all the different output resolutions and framerates for the myriad of consoles that the game will be coming out on.

The most confusing of all though is that Resident Evil Village will run at 4K/45FPS in ray-tracing mode on PS5/Xbox Series X. 45FPS is a weird choice as it’s going to cause the game to visible stutter for anyone that doesn’t have a VRR capable TV. it’s also worth mentioning that the PS5 doesn’t even have VRR at this point in time (it’s coming in a later update).

The more reasonable choice would have been 1440p/60FPS or 4K/30FPS, but 45FPS is certainly a choice.

If you’re wanting to play at 4K/60FPS on PS5/Xbox Series X, you can play without that gorgeous ray-tracing.
