Silent Hill The Medium

Konami Is Partnering With Bloober Team And A New Silent Hill Game Is Almost Certainly On The Way

It’s not Blue Box Studios, but the latest announcement by Bloober Team all but confirms that a new Silent Hill game is on the way.

It was rumoured earlier this year that Bloober Games were working on a new Silent Hill game and it’s now been officially announced by Bloober Games that they have formed a strategic partnership with Konami, the IP holder of the Silent Hill franchise.

In a statement posted by Bloober Team on its website, the team said:

It is a historic day for me and the culmination of several years of our work. The fact that such a renowned company as KONAMI has decided to strategically cooperate with the Bloober Team means that we also joined the world leaders in gaming and became an equal partner for the leading players in this market.

As part of the agreement, the partners declared cooperation in the development of contents and the exchange of know-how.

Bloober team had already confirmed in an interview earlier this year that they had been working for more than a year on a horror IP with a very famous gaming publisher. “”In fact, we’ve been working for more than a year on another gaming project, another horror IP, and we’re doing this with a very famous gaming publisher. I can’t tell you who. I can’t tell you what the project is, but I’m pretty sure when people realize we’re working on it, they will be very excited.” said Bloober Team CEO.

A report by VGC goes on to confirm that one of the projects are Silent Hill related. VGC’s report also goes on to say that there is another Silent Hill project in development by a prominent developer in Japan.

It’ll be interesting to see how this all plays out, but one thing is for sure, it seems that we’re finally getting at least one (and probably more) Silent Hill game.
