One of the more interesting tidbits to emerge following the re-reveal of Dead Island 2 is that the game is going to be the first to support Alexa Game Control, which will allow players to control certain elements of the game using just their voice.

Although listings on Amazon are sparse with details on how the feature will work with the game, it’s expected that you’ll be able to interact with non-playable characters, swap weapons, and demand information on where the nearest quest is located.

An Alexa smart device isn’t required to use the feature, though Alexa Game Control can be used for regular everyday functions, such as ordering food.
It’s worth noting that, at this stage, Alexa Game Control is compatible only with PC and Xbox consoles with no current word on whether it’ll make its way to PlayStation platforms. It’s also only currently available in North America, though Amazon are planning to roll it out to further territories in future.
Dead Island 2 is planned to release February 3, 2023.
