It’s been rumoured for some time now that the next Assassin’s Creed game would be a smaller scale, more stealth focused game after huge iterations in Origins, Odyssey and Valhalla, but we’ve got our first glimpse of what seems to be the next game in the series.
In a video posted by YouTuber j0nathan and corroborated by Bloomberg’s Jason Schreier, it’s said that the next Assassin’s Creed game is set to be called Assassin’s Creed Mirage and will release between March and May 2023.
YouTuber j0nathan https://t.co/IgrqJfAV7u revealed this information on the new Assassins Creed game
-Should be called Assassins Creed Mirage
-Released in Spring 2023
-The game will take place in Baghdad between the years 870-860
-Return to basics, no leveling system pic.twitter.com/soCko92M6U— Rebs Gaming (@Mr_Rebs_) August 30, 2022
The game will apparently be set in Baghdad and will take things back to basics, focusing on stealth and not relying on heavy RPG systems such as levels and dialogue choices.
It was also reported as part of the leak that the original game would be remade and included in the season pass for the game although that wasn’t backed up by Jason Schreier.
We can likely assume that the reveal of this game is just a few weeks away, happening at the next Ubisoft Forward which is taking place on Sunday, September 11th at 05:00 AEST (more times here).
