Assassin’s Creed: Mirage was fully revealed this morning although that was just the tip of the iceberg with two other mainline Assassin’s Creed games revealed in Codename Red (Feudal Japan) and Codename Hexe (Witchraft) as well as the new Assassin’s Creed: Infinity platform. Mirage is set to take the series back to its roots in a linear action adventure stealth driven game. The game will release in 2023 with a cheaper RRP of $79.95 for PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One and PC.
Assassin’s Creed: Mirage is set in Baghdad and it’s described as a tribute to early Assassin’s Creed games. It takes things back to where it all started with the game being a linear narrative driven action adventure game that focuses on parkour and stealth assassinations, without the many RPG elements that were featured in Origins, Odyssey and Valhalla.
The main character of Assassin’s Creed: Mirage is Bassim from Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla and its set 20 years before that game. The game will also star Emmy Winner Shoreh Aghdashloo playing the role of Rashan who is Basim’s mentor.
The game will have four regions and parkour has also been sped up so that you feel agile and empowered whilst making your way around Baghdad. When it comes to combat, Basim is able to slow down times and performing several assassinations at once. Eagle Eye is back and even more crucial than it has been in previous games.
The system of detection has been reworked so that you can see who is tracking you and how far they are. New tools such as the mine and blowdart have also been added. Just like in the older games, level design has been designed around stealth and parkour.
A Collector’s Edition for the game was also revealed and it includes a Collector’s Case, a Bassim figurine, a Baghdad map, a mini artbook, Basim’s broach, a steelbook. a mini game soundtrack and the Assassin’s Creed: Mirage Deluxe Edition. It’s available for pre-order on EB Games for $229.95 HERE.
