Moving Out 2

The Aussie Couch-Chucking Sequel Moving Out 2 Has A Release Date

Moving In soon.

Australian developer SMG Studio has revealed the planned release date for the highly-anticipated sequel to 2020’s hit chaotic removalist sim, Moving Out, announcing that it’ll have everything boxed up and shipped out for an August 15th launch across PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Switch and PC.

Moving Out 2 is set to expand on the already-fantastic original’s take on frantic, Overcooked-style multiplayer action with a heavy lifting twist, packing a new inter-dimensional campaign, new and returning characters, new mechanics and features, improved accessibility and assist options as well as the addition of online multiplayer for the first time.

PC players won’t have to wait until August 15th to get lifting and packing either, with Moving Out 2 getting a six-level playable demo on PC as part of this week’s Steam Next Fest, which officially kicks off at 3AM on Tuesday, June 20th and runs for a week. We’ve already highlighted some of our picks from the early available Next Fest demos but will absolutely be checking out Moving Out 2 as soon as we can.

We gave the original Moving Out an 8.5 in our review and said: “Moving Out is one of the best games that the couch co-op party game genre has seen and I implore you to play it, especially during the current times that we’re going through. There was a moment where my girlfriend and I were quickly hurrying to carry our last few pieces of furniture to the truck, but kept running into obstacles (a level full of rakes), and what started as small giggles quickly evolved into uncontrollable laughter. It’s these kind of moments that makes games like this a success, and Moving Out delivers greatly in this regard.”
