PlayStation’s Film Division Might Be Teasing MediEvil And Days Gone Projects

I'm here for it!

It seems like we might be in for a couple more PlayStation Productions film or TV projects based on the MediEvil and Days Gone franchises, if a recently-updated mission video on the company’s official website is any indication.

The video exemplifies PlayStation Productions’ mission to bring iconic PlayStation characters to life, with a stylised look at a number of franchises we already know are featured or will be featured in movies and TV series – The Last of Us, Uncharted, Horizon, Ghost of Tsushima and God of War. Interestingly though, MediEvil’s Sir Daniel Fortesque and Days Gone’s Deacon St. John are also featured.

The video was uploaded on July 10th this year, so it’s probably been hiding in plain sight for a little while. Deacon’s appearance is quite hidden, his character model tucked in the back of one of the final shots of a number of characters. The view of Dan’s bony, armoured legs in the new version of the stinger definitely doesn’t seem like a throwaway though – it lingers on those gleaming gams for a good while.

While a Days Gone movie seems easy enough (and it’s not the first time we’ve heard rumours of one), an animated MediEvil film or series could actually be a lot of fun. Judge for yourself below:

Adding further fuel to the fire, a couple of film industry folks have knowingly reposted X user @realradec’s initial unearthing of the MediEvil feature:

This all comes just after rumours have begun swirling of Tom Holland and Chris Pratt being eyed for the roles of Jak and Daxter, respectively, in an upcoming film adaptation from Uncharted film director, Ruben Fleischer.

The director told Digital Trends early last year, “I’m actually working on Jak and Daxter, a version of that, for PlayStation, which I think would be really cool to bring to life.”
