PlayStation has revealed, through a post on social media, that Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 – which launched last week on Friday, October 20th – is officially the fastest selling PlayStation Studios title in history.
The company said the game managed to sell through 2.5 million copies in its first 24 hours of release, with the previous “fastest-selling” PlayStation Studios title being God of War Ragnarok which at the time was reported as selling 5.1 million copies in its first week.

Importantly, this number is highlighted as being the number of copies “sold through,” which means it’s not inflated by the number of copies shipped but represents what’s actually in players’ hands (or on their SSDs).
