PlayStation Plus Extra Is Getting Two Day One Launch Titles This Month

Count 'em!

Everyone so often, PlayStation drops its tradition of announcing all of a month’s new PlayStation Plus Extra/Deluxe games in one go to do an early reveal of an exciting new “day one” launch into the service, and this is one of those times, only with two games!

The first to launch will be Dave the Diver’s PlayStation debut on April 16th, followed a week later by the brand-new Tales of Kenzera: ZAU on April 23rd.

We knew that Dave the Diver was headed to PlayStation consoles this month after it was announced in a PlayStation State of Play showcase earlier in the year, but not only do we now have a firm release date but it’s also been revealed that the game will be launching straight into the PlayStation Plus Game Catalogue for PlayStation Plus Extra and Deluxe subscribers.

The game’s director, Jaeho Hwang took to the PlayStation Blog to reveal the news as well as go over a bit of a breakdown of how the game’s concept came together and what new players can expect from the game which released to huge acclaim on PC and Switch last year and went one to take numerous award nominations (some more contentious than others).

Separately, EA took to the PS Blog to reveal the news about Tales of Kenzera: ZAU launching as a PlayStation Plus Extra title the week after, on the same day it releases across other platforms.

The game is a breakout effort from Surgent Studios, led by actor Abubakar Salim and promises to tell a stirring tale of loss and grief against a fantastic backdrop inspired by Bantu tales, while also being an exciting and challenging action platformer. It’s shaping up to be something special, so the fact it’ll be accessible to a huge audience of subscribers is great news!

Other than these two, PlayStation is yet to reveal what else is coming in the new line-up of PlayStation Plus Extra/Deluxe games in April, but we did just get a trio of new offerings for PlayStation Plus Essential subscribers this week which includes the sorely-underplayed Immortals of Aveum along with Minecraft Legends and Skul: The Hero Slayer. You can find out more about those and claim the games right here.
