PlayStation has announced that the PSN outage was due to an operational issue and it’s also confirmed that all PlayStation Plus subscribers will automatically get 5 free days of service added to their subscription, which isn’t bad given the outage lasted just under 24 hours.
On its X page, PlayStation confirmed: “Network services have fully recovered from an operational issue. We apologize for the inconvenience and thank the community for their patience. All PlayStation Plus members will automatically receive an additional 5 days of service”.

It’s expected that this ill be automatically applied to PlayStation Plus subscribers of all tiers, but if this doesn’t end up being the case we’ll keep you posted.
Earlier this morning, PlayStation confirmed that the outage that kept people from playing games online as well as downloading games had been fixed lasting around 24 hours and affecting all users globally.
“PSN has been restored. You should be able to access online features without any problems now. For more details: status.playstation.com Sorry for the inconvenience!”
