Naughty Dog has updated The Last Of Us Part II Remastered on both the PS5 and PC, and surprisingly, it adds a new chronological mode that tells the stories of both Ellie and Abby in a chronological order, showing how their stories come together in chronological sequence rather than in different parts of the game.

Whilst Naughty Dog recommends new players play the game in its original format, it believes that this is a way to give fans an even deeper insight into the narrative, and no doubt this would have taken some serious work to create as well.

In a blog post, they said: “Through the new Chronological mode, we believe players will gain even deeper insight into Part II’s narrative. Players will be able to see how Ellie being gifted a guitar flows so neatly into her learning to play, for example, while the journey through Seattle will showcase the fascinating parallels between Ellie and Abby’s crisscrossing journeys. You’ll see just how close they come into running into each other, how their actions impact each other, and more.”

The game’s No Return mode has also received an update in the way of new skins. Joel can wear Nathan Drake’s attire and Tommy can wear Sam Drake’s attire to celebrate the studio’s 40th anniversaty.

The new mode and skins will drop in a free update for all PS5 and PC players today. The cheapest way to get the game is on Amazon for $69 with free shipping HERE.
