July’s PlayStation Plus Extra/Deluxe games were announced this morning and it’s a banger month including Cyberpunk 2077 and Banishers of Eden.
In an interesting change-up, whilst the games will release all at once as they always do in most parts of the world, things are happening a little different in Australia this month with the games releasing at different times throughout the rest of the month.
In a statement provided by PlayStation Australia, they said: “We’re exploring new ways to deliver PS Plus Game Catalogue titles so this month, in select markets including Australia, games will be available on varying dates.”
I would suspect that PlayStation is testing dropping games at different parts of the month to see if it increases engagement across titles (rather than players maybe just playing one of the games given they all drop at once), so it’ll be interesting to see if this sticks or rolls out to more markets as time goes on.
the games are split into three different drops (Cyberpunk aside) with a batch dropping each remaining Tuesday until the end of the month.
