Fable was officially unveiled ahead of its release later this year on the Xbox Developer Direct this morning alongside the confirmation that it is launching on PS5 day one as well as Xbox Series X|S and PC.
The first gameplay teaser was revealed alongside a deeper dive, and we now know that it is a new beginning for the franchise rather than a remake or a sequel. Taking place in Albion, it will still blend traits similar to that of the original game including player choices impacting the story and world around you.
The story is based around a mysterious stranger that freezes an entire village and will have humour and comedy amongst darkness just like older games in the series. It is a full open world with NPCs that have routines and relationships and the combat now lets you blend melee including ranged and melee combat and there’s a bunch of classic Fable creatures as well.
Whilst no release date was given, it’s launching in Spring this year.
