iOS 18.2, iPadOS 18.2 and MacOS Sequoia 15.2 have today rolled out which brings Apple Intelligence in all of its glory to Australia.
Whilst some parts of Apple Intelligence had already rolled out in other parts of the world, the full suite rolls out today with Australia getting it all.
This includes Image Playground which lets you use prompts to create custom imagery in a variety of styles, Genmoji which allows you to create your own emojis using prompts and the Image Wand which lets you turn a sketch into a fully-fledged image.
It also introduces Writing Tools which allows you to proofread and re-write text in any app, and also use prompts to give your writing and extra special something.
Siri has also has a brand new design on all devices that goes around the border of the screen and it’s also a lot more responsive and more helpful, with a much more natural conversation flow as well.
Two of my favourite features are notification summary and the new reduce interruptions focus mode which both us Apple Intelligence with notification summary providing summaries of grouped notifications from all apps and reduce interruptions only letting through the most important notifications.
There’s big improvements to camera and photos as well with Visual Intelligence using your camera to tell you information about what’s on-screen and a new clean-up feature that lets you unwanted remove things magically out of photos
ChatGPT is also introduced into Apple Intelligence which allows you to go beyond and use prompts to create lists based on creating a travel itinerary, or anything that Siri can’t handle, ChatGPT will be able to help out (if you choose for it to).
Ahead of launch, I had the chance to sit down with Bob Borchers, Apple’s VP of Worldwide Product Marketing to chat all things Apple Intelligence and you can watch that below:
